Computer Equipment and Software Requirements
The position requires the ability to work with a personal computer in a Windows environment.
Requires familiarity with Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint, as well as using the Internet, if required.
Education and Experience Required
HS degree (GED equivalent), plus process manufacturing experience.
Licensing or other Special Requirements
Requires a valid driver’s license and good driving record.
Ability to lift up to 55 lbs. independently; and up to 100 lbs. with assistance
Must have forklift experience.
Purpose of the Position
Safely and efficiently manufacture products, operating automatic and manual machines, hand tools and equipment in order to prepare, blend and package ingredients into compounds for internal use or sale.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Daily cleaning and plant maintenance (includes grounds). Maintain a clean, safe and orderly work environment by properly identifying and storing ingredients, supplies and products as directed by supervisors and efficiently using various hand tools and equipment such as push brooms, mops, floor sweepers, cleaning chemicals, trash receptacles, etc,
Assist truck drivers in loading/unloading trucks. Cleaning out trucks and tanks as needed.
Assist plant personnel in performing activities associated with customer service, samples, packaging and general building maintenance.
Shipping and Receiving including Common Carrier, LTL, UPS, FedEx and International shipments.
Read and follow daily production schedule and instructions, prepare packaging materials by retrieving items from storage, applying labels to containers, setting up and loading filling machines, stacking and palletizing products, operating various automatic and manual packaging machines, scales and printing devices, industrial lift trucks, pallet jacks and other material handling tools and equipment.
Maintain accurate written and electronic records as required by specific tasks.
Assist other operators as directed by supervisors in performing all activities associated with the manufacture of products and any other task assigned by supervisors.
Prepare, identify and transport samples of materials to QC personnel for testing.
Operate mixing machines controlled by computer or electronic devices, including, but not limited to: flow meters, power on/off switches, valves, automatic or manual scaling, pumping and transporting.
Train, educate and coordinate activities as directed by supervisors.
Monitor equipment functioning and, as necessary, assist maintenance personnel in performing repairs and adjustments.
Communicate immediately to Operators, Supervisors, or any member of management all circumstances which may affect quality or are considered questionable and unsafe.
Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, safety rules and instructions.
Perform other duties as required.
