Job Description

General Summary:

Responsible for the management of oncology services and for the direction and supervision of administrative, operational and fiscal functions to ensure successful operation of the cancer center.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1 Participates in the development, coordination and administrative support of strategic and operational plans related to Oncology Services.

2 Oversees all programmatic components, ensuring adherence to accreditation standards and other regulatory requirements.

3 Prepares annual capital and operating budgets. Monitors expenditures and works with managers to ensure efficiencies within the departments of the cancer center.

4 Maintains close collaboration with all departments and clinical areas to ensure streamlined operations of patient care activities and quality of care.

5 Oversees oncology support services; develops and implements professional and public education programs; and collaborates with community agencies as appropriate to promote cancer screening and outreach.

6 Works collaboratively with patients, employees, physicians, and organization leadership to resolve problems and issues. Fosters positive working relationships.

7 Manages, facilitates and develops processes that focus on employee and patient satisfaction.

8 Monitors program activities and physician participation, recording and reporting statistical data, including financial data to determine levels of participation and identify areas for improvement.

9 Ensures the efficient, economic and quality performance of the assigned service line and/or departments/areas of responsibility to support or provide quality health care services.

10 Assists in and collaborates with marketing to develop and implement marketing plans.

11 Ensure compliance with contracts including equipment, service, and maintenance

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or Health Administration required

  • Master’s Degree preferred

Required Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years clinical oncology experience with evidence of strong leadership capabilities.

  • Solid oncology background and a strong understanding of all components of an oncology program.

  • Minimum of 3 years management experience in an acute care hospital; cancer care background highly desired.

  • Experience in oncology operations.

  • Experience in developing and/or managing clinical programs.
