The Arc Baltimore Direct Support Professional Weekend in Baltimore, Maryland

We have two positions located in Baltimore, MD. The work schedule is Friday 6pm - 11pm, Saturday 7am - 11pm, Sunday 7am - 6pm (Required to sleep in home overnight on Friday and Saturday)


To ensure individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities have maximum opportunities to actively participate in all aspects of community life and to offer programs and services that support them in doing so.


  • Monitor individuals to ensure safety in regard to medical, health, behavioral, and environmental issues.

  • Assist with daily living skills (e.g., lifting, transferring, toileting, personal hygiene, laundry, cooking etc.).

  • Implement Individual Plans and the Outcomes, Goals, and Strategies.

  • Complete paperwork as assigned including documentation (e.g., incident reports, progress notes, behavior data, drills etc.).

  • Conduct drills as needed.

  • Assist with banking and budgeting and assist with shopping, when applicable.

  • Plan, assist, and participate in community outings with individuals (e.g. visiting family, friends, church/temple, shopping etc.).

  • Assist the individuals with recreational, cultural and vacation plans of their choice.

  • Maintain living environment in accordance with Code of Maryland Regulations (COMAR) and health department standards.

  • Administer and record medications pursuant to State and Agency requirements, when applicable.

  • Accompany individuals on medical emergencies as needed.

  • Provide independent and functional living instructions to the individuals.

  • Maintain responsibility for all assigned house/vehicle management (this includes providing all transportation to consumers when necessary).

  • Perform Direct Support Professional Counselor duties throughout weekend, including overnight.

  • Communicate with and update the coordinator on a regular basis.

  • Supervise support staff assigned to house while on duty.

  • Attend all meetings and in-services as requested by supervisor.

  • Work with individuals as assigned by supervisor.

  • Complete all agency required trainings for position.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor


  • High school diploma or G.E.D preferred.

  • Related experience preferred.

  • Must be able to work independently.


  • Must assist with daily living skills (e.g., lifting, transferring, toileting, personal hygiene, laundry and cooking).

  • May be required to lift /assist in transferring individuals.

  • Must be available in emergency situations as the need arises.

  • Maryland driver’s license required and approved clean driving record necessary.
